Sustainable development

The mission of JSC NIIneftepromkhim in the field of sustainable development is to promote efficient extraction and use of resources to achieve energy security of the Russian Federation; to promote risk reduction and unlock the potential of energy transition opportunities, making a positive contribution to socio-economic development and following high standards of environmental and industrial safety, corporate governance and social responsibility.

“The energy sector has been in the spotlight in recent years. Fossil fuels account for 85% of global energy consumption, and the energy system is responsible for 76% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Every year, the importance of systemic work aimed at ensuring energy availability while maintaining environmental quality and social well-being increases.

The company JSC “NIIneftepromkhim” in its activities is focused on achieving the goals of sustainable development: by using our products, client companies reduce the environmental impact on the natural environment from oil production processes. The petrochemical industry is a representative of those sectors of the economy, the features of which are the complexity of production and technological chains for the creation of products, a high level of risk in the operation of chemical-technological systems, an increased negative impact on the environment. At the same time, petrochemical industry enterprises demonstrate high indicators of economic, technological efficiency, as well as a high level of innovative activity. In this regard, we assign primary importance to the development of a management approach that allows, on the one hand, to ensure further stimulation of innovative activity in the petrochemical industry, and on the other hand, to ensure the achievement of sustainable development goals due to the unity and harmonious development of environmental, economic and social subsystems.

We integrate sustainable development principles into all aspects of the company’s activities – from internal processes to stakeholder relations, from production operations to charitable projects in collaboration with local authorities.

In January 2022, the Sustainable Development Policy was approved, defining the focal points and key principles of the company’s activities to ensure long-term efficiency. The Sustainable Development Policy serves as a guide for each employee of the company and is the foundation for making management decisions based on the balance of interests of existing and future generations.

“Sustainability is an integral part of the activities of leading companies. A systematic approach to sustainable development is an indicator of a company’s maturity and a common business language spoken by successful organizations.”

Ildar Gamilov
General Director of JSC Niineftepromkhim
